In the late eighties and early nineties, a group of young models became known as the “Trinity”—the best-known and most-wanted of their generation. They were Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, and Christy Turlington. “Turlie,” as friends called her, was a luminous brunette from California who stood out as the graceful one, the one with the feline eyes. In 1992, the Metropolitan Museum of Art declared her the “Face of the 20th Century.”
